Hey all just wondering what are some of the strangest candy and snacks you've even come accross. I recently came accross some chocolate skittles. with the flavors being chocolate pudding, fudge brownie, vanilla, s'more, and i forgot the fifth flavor. Then I also came accross some berry flavored m&ms at a gas station. then finally there was the cinnimon flavored sun chips man they were gross.

Uh, to PB king, that's just, strange. LOL. Chocolate Skittles? Berry-flavored M&M's? Where can I try some of those? LOL.
Let's see ... one of the weird snacks I like eating myself are hot Chetos with cream cheese. Yum! And I like mangoes with lemon juice and chili powder. Oooooh, just thinking about it is making my mouth water.

Chocolate-flavored skittles? Damn, I'd love to get my hands on a bag of those. lol

The worst thing I've ever tried is shrimp flavored potato chips.

Post 7 by TheAsianInvasion (The Zone's invader) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 10:46:51

Post 8 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Saturday, 15-Mar-2008 13:28:27

Wow, ummm, i've tried alot of wongy things, but, one thing i love is salted lemon. Ya basicly just cut the lemon up in pieces and, totally coat it in salt. lol Yeh...i no...odd. Dutch licrish is awesome to, though, i've tried some really wongy stuff like, sherbit bread?? Omg, it was festy as, and, sugar coated chocolate. Like, a hard coating over the chocolate. Bleh. lol Sorry, i ramble.

The shrimp chips taste like those packing peanuts you put in boxes. it's like that texture.

Post 11 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Tuesday, 18-Mar-2008 18:24:04

I had ice cream flavored skittles before.

Post 12 by torian princess (The original Blakanadian.) on Sunday, 06-Apr-2008 11:25:28

my mom had these chips that were supposed to be fruit flavered or something and it was just, no.

Post 13 by torian princess (The original Blakanadian.) on Sunday, 06-Apr-2008 11:28:13

I think they were apple or something...they were grose.

Post 14 by SunshineAndRain (I'm happily married, a mom of two and a fulltime college student.) on Tuesday, 22-Apr-2008 2:20:38

Mint Skittles, gross. Caramel-apple chips, even worse.

Post 15 by TheAsianInvasion (The Zone's invader) on Wednesday, 23-Apr-2008 22:04:19

mint skittles? try mint mnm's. now, that's just wrong...

Post 16 by SunshineAndRain (I'm happily married, a mom of two and a fulltime college student.) on Wednesday, 21-May-2008 0:16:33

Another one is chocolate Altoids, cinnamon Pringles, sweet and creamy popcorn. Strange.

Post 17 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Tuesday, 10-Jun-2008 16:26:18

Well, I din't actually try it, but I heard about a chocolate bar that apparently has bacon in it! Talk about disgusting...

Post 18 by SunshineAndRain (I'm happily married, a mom of two and a fulltime college student.) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 0:19:51

I ate Buffalo Chicken Wing flavored Pringles the other day, and one time, I ate Berries and Cream starbursts. The chips were good, the Starbursts... I don't know. Kinda yucky.

Post 19 by Cristobal (Veteran Zoner) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 18:42:19

chocolate covered grasshoppers and grilled black ants.

Post 20 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Sunday, 20-Jul-2008 21:13:51

God, grilled ants? That is disgusting. Buffalo pringles are awesome.

Post 21 by sea star (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 31-Jul-2008 2:02:10

the other day, i had pickle flavored pringles. they were gross! oh, and jallapeno flavored popcorn.

Post 22 by SunshineAndRain (I'm happily married, a mom of two and a fulltime college student.) on Friday, 13-Feb-2009 23:23:35

Chocolate raspberry coffee creamer. Why would you want chocolate and raspberries in your coffee?

Post 23 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Tuesday, 24-Feb-2009 11:52:28

grilled ants and chocolate-covered grasshoppers? gross ...

Post 24 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Tuesday, 24-Feb-2009 19:57:14

Shame I can't find the dill pickle Pringles, as I'm sure I'd like those. Never had the chocolate insects or any kind of insect, and that sort of thing sounds kind of odd. Also had the Buffalo wing Pringles and they're good and as I recall a bit on the hot side.
My fiancee is part Japanese, so I've been able to try some unusual but good Asian snackie items. My favorite are the wasabi peas. They're crunchy like a chip or cracker, as I think they're fried, and they're coated in this stuff that tastes a bit like horse radish but is also quite hot or prickly on the tongue. Very tasty and you can't just quit at one, despite the prickly tongue you get. I also had some sort of spicy dried squid snack, and although the taste is unusual, it's not bad at all.

Post 25 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 11-Apr-2009 20:26:51

interesting. Grilled ants? Ewww! *Gags*!

Post 26 by Siriusly Severus (The ESTJ 1w9 3w4 6w7 The Taskmaste) on Saturday, 13-Jun-2009 2:01:02

Yeah, shrimp chips are good, and so are shrimp fries. Damn, Now you got me to want them... Where's a bag? Maybe I'll go have dried squid instead. Ooo, yeah, those apple chips, I don't like, but my family seems to like them... but again, they have some really odd tastes.

My most unique was unsweetened chocolate. Yick! And, I asked for the biggest piece too, whoops. but, nothing strange, considering a lot of things I find normal you might not, since I am asian. Like dried squid, for example. Who sees a random Englishman chewing on those... I had some barbeque flavors, it was new, but not unusual. It took me five minutes to notice it wasn't the same flavor to what I was use to, though.

circus peanuts. they are these rubbery things that have this disgusting sweet blah taste. my step mom always put them in my kids easter baskets because they are her favorite candy.

pork rinds. fried fat. ick.

also malted milk balls. gross!!!!! My anniversary, my dad's birthday and my daughters birthday are within five days. So every year we have a big family gathering. One time easter was in there too, so my step mom made this wonderful cake which was shaped like an easter basket. It had peeps on top sitting on malted milk easter eggs. She gave me a big piece of cake with three of those easter eggs on it. Then she turned on the video camera to record my reaction to this dilectable concoction. I took a bite and got all three of thos eggs in my mouth. She said I looked like I'd been hit with a jolt of poisonous gas. My face literally turned green. She has a hearing loss. My husband had said don't give any of those eggs to your step daughter. She thought he said that I loved them. The rest of the cake was sensational. She's a great cook. I really felt bad about my reaction to those eggs. Thank god after she stopped laughing at my horrible face she wasn't mad.

Hmmm, what an interesting topic! I've seen the Hotlix line of lollipops. They sell lollipops with things like earthworms, grasshoppers, crickets, and ants in their centers. They come in the conventional flavors like strawberry but with a tasty? surprise in the middle!
Of course, there are also the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans which was inspired by the Harry Potter books and films. The Jelly Belly company actually manufactured them in vomit, booger, pepper, rotten egg, bacon, and grass flavors, among many others!
Speaking of bacon, I've heard of Bacon Mints. How somebody decided to combine those two flavors is beyond me, but they come in a tin with a picture of a pig on its front, and from what I've read, they taste exactly like ... well ... bacon and peppermint mixed together! I'll try almost anything once but I haven't yet ponied up the cas to buy these Bacon Mints.
The last unusual snack I've come across are chocolate covered pork rinds. They come in dark, milk, and white chocolate flavors. I'm sure there are other, more innovative and unusual snacks than these, but these top the list for me. Smiles.
John

you know in a sick way I think chocolate covered pork rinds would be kind of tasty. of course i think putting dark chocolate on just about anything would improve it. where did you see these john?

has anyone one here mentioned my three totally gross and weird snacks? fried pickles, fried twinkies, and fried oreos. i just can't feature these three things fried.

Post 33 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Thursday, 22-Oct-2009 9:01:13

Fried pickles are nasty. Ugh ...

Post 34 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 12-Nov-2009 18:42:09

I have heard of fried Oreos and fried twinkies. I've never tried any of those. Fried Twinkies sound gross! I've never had a twinkie. What are they? Stupid question I know!

Post 35 by renegade rocker (I just keep on posting!) on Thursday, 12-Nov-2009 19:41:46

I saw something at the fair this past summer, deep fried mars bars, I kid you not! From what someone told me who seen them, they actually looked quite good, so I'm hoping to give them a try next year.

Post 36 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Thursday, 12-Nov-2009 20:04:19

Pop Rocks. Not as weird as chocolate bugs, but they were weird to me at first.

Post 37 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 06-Mar-2010 21:40:44

Ooh pop rocks are awesome!

Post 38 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 13-Mar-2010 5:53:09

I said this somewhere else, I'm sure. Peeps are pure sugar-coated evil. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am! Same goes for those confounded circus peanuts. They have some sort of fake banana flavor in them, at least I think so.
As for bacon-flavored things, including mints and who knows what else, I guess they're collecting all they can find over on
www.thinkgeek.com
which is a cool website to check out anyhow. They have other odd-sounding food in there, too.
Oh, and somebody mentioned shrimp chips, be they the flat ones or the stick-shaped ones. Yeah, omnomnomnom, they are tasty. We have a store with a nice large Asian food section down the street. They also seem to have crab and squid chips there. Not sure if they had clam flavor. The flavors don't seem to be so strong, though.

Post 39 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Sunday, 14-Mar-2010 12:09:31

I think the circus peanuts are bubble gum and cardboard. Makes for a neutricious breakfast. Lol.

Post 40 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Sunday, 14-Mar-2010 21:51:37

Those peanuts sound horrifyingly disgusting!

Post 41 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Sunday, 14-Mar-2010 23:49:06

Looky what I started! Now I need to Google or hit the Wikipedia and find out who makes those and what they're made of.

Post 42 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Monday, 15-Mar-2010 12:22:08

Freeze-dried eliphant droppings and chewed bubble gum.
